Kensington Soccer Club to Join Eastern Premier Soccer League
KENSINGTON, Pa. - With the announcement of the Eastern Premier Soccer League’s new conference — the Delaware River Conference —, Kensington Soccer Club is excited to announce that it’ll be joining the league, providing players in the Kensington neighborhood with greater opportunities to play elite level soccer.
The EPSL is an elite semi-professional soccer league with members across northeastern United States and an official affiliate of the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), a professional soccer league in the third tier of U.S. Soccer. As a NISA affiliate, EPSL clubs have the right to compete in the NISA Independent Cup against NISA professional clubs. EPSL clubs are also affiliated with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and through their state associations, they’re eligible to participate in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup qualifying rounds, the U.S. National Amateur Cup and state and regional cup competitions.
Since 2010, Kensington Soccer Club has been introducing soccer and providing opportunities to play for underserved youth in the Kensington area, helping them develop their skills and passion for the sport. KSC has helped develop players who’ve gone on to play for teams who compete in the EPSL, USL League Two, the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the United Soccer League of Pennsylvania (USLPA), the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), CASA Division One, and college soccer.
By joining the EPSL, Kensington Soccer Club will now make elite competition much more accessible to Kensington players by providing them with a club that’s located in their own neighborhood.
When asked about players in the neighborhood, KSC Coach Jim Breslin said, “Kensington is a sleeping giant just waiting to be awakened.”
Those interested in joining can message Coach Jim Breslin at 215-828-4924
