The Blueprint for Community Collaboration
On Saturday, December 9th, KSC will continue a year of uniting the community with soccer tournaments with a special tournament for the students in our OST partner schools. Our OST Director Christian Bailey has been very intentional about incorporating the OST programs into some of our community-work. This event will be hosted at Towey Recreation Center - where many of our youth travel teams compete. Ultimately in addition to seeing different opportunities for themselves in soccer, this tournament allows our youth in our schools to see themselves as a part of a larger family.
In the spirit of community engagement and friendship, our sponsor is Blueprint Cookies. They are a hospitality company that is motivated by the slogan, “Be nice to people and eat a cookie”. Blueprint Cookies was founded by Johnny Ciarlante and Christian Williams. This is unlike many cookie companies, because their origins started on the soccer field. Christian says, “Johnny and I are from the area and have been playing soccer with and against each other since we can remember. We think combining soccer and cookies is a simple but important bond that can introuce relationships, support, and hopefully inspire as many people as possible. It’s much bigger than soccer, it’s much bigger than cookies - it’s about impacting others, especially within our community.” You can learn more about their story in a feature by EPYSA (here).
This is a great example of how unifying people through soccer opens up opportunities for friendship, business collaboration, and enables them to support local youth. We are pleased to partner with a hospitality company with such deep roots in our community, and with a passion for sharing soccer with the world.
Please join us in thanking them for supporting a major event for our OST program.
