KENSINGTON SOCCER CLUB OVERVIEW

Kensington Soccer Club (KSC) is dedicated to providing high-quality soccer experiences that promote youth development, leadership, and community engagement. The In-House League Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of KSC’s in-house soccer programs, including KSC Juniors (a multi-site recreational league), the High School Winter League, Soccer for Peace Men’s Pick-ups, In-house adult leagues, and Safe 8s (a summer high school league). This position requires strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a passion for creating a positive and inclusive experience for all participants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

League Operations & Organization:

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee games, practices, and events.

  • Utilize GotSport software for registration

  • Utilize various tools for scheduling; including Gotsport, Microsoft Excel and google sheets.

  • Marketing of all in house league events.

  • Working with technical staff for hiring and resourcing of coaching support.

  • Garner community by in by working collaboratively with existing partners such as OST Program, School District of Philadelphia, and KSC Community Partners

  • Work closely with Fields Director to permit needed facilities.

  • Coordinate referees and game officials for league matches.

  • Monitor and maintain league logistical items.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, coaches, and players.

  • Communicate league updates, schedules, and important information, ensuring the Communication Coordinator has the necessary details for website and social media updates.

  • Address any concerns, conflicts, or issues that arise during the season.

  • Work closely with the Technical Director, Executive Program Director, Executive Director and other staff to align league activities with club goals.

  • Collaborate with program partners to enhance league offerings.

Facility & Equipment Management:

  • Coordinate field usage and ensure facilities are properly maintained, with the support of coaches and other staff.

  • Organize and distribute necessary equipment, uniforms, and game-day supplies.

  • Ensure safety guidelines and league rules are followed at all times.

Player & Community Engagement:

  • Assist in player recruitment and team formation.

  • Organize special events such as opening day ceremonies, tournaments, and awards celebrations.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and fun environment for all participants.

  • Enthusiastically embrace and advocate for the violence prevention and enrichment components that we incorporate into our leagues.

  • Ensure that the teen and adult players recite the “Soccer for Peace” statement before each game and practice, reinforcing KSC’s commitment to respect, inclusion, and positive play.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in sports management, coaching, or league coordination preferred.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Passion for youth sports and community engagement.

  • Knowledge of soccer rules and regulations is a plus.

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Compensation & Work Environment

  • Salary: $40,000 to $45,000

  • Work Schedule: Full time. The balance between office/administrative work and on-site work will vary from week to week as soccer seasons start and end. Office/administrative work schedule has some flexibility, but should be done between 12pm and 5pm weekdays. On-site league supervision will take place weekday evenings and weekends during the day.

  • Location: Office/Administrative work can be done from home or from the KSC office, with the exception of Tuesdays when all staff work in person and other meetings as needed. League supervision work will be done at a variety of sites, mostly in or near Kensington, but some in other parts of the city.
