Kensington Soccer Club is dedicated to uniting and advancing the broader Kensington community with high quality soccer and youth development programs for everyone, regardless of ability to pay.
Position Overview:
Over the last few years Kensington Soccer Club has continued to develop a strong partnership with the school district of Philadelphia. We currently run free soccer programs for children at more than 20 schools and community sites. These sites are organized into “clusters” based on their proximity to one another. Each OST Site Cluster Supervisor will be responsible for one cluster, overseeing the day-to-day operations at each site. This position is community based, meaning that you will be spending time going from site to site, making sure that programming is running smoothly, kids are safe and having a good time, and coaches are performing well.
Responsibilities include:
Visit assigned sites on a daily basis to oversee programming and assist when necessary
Act as head coach at new school district sites & take lead in getting programming up and running before transferring to head and assistant coaches for management
Problem solve issues with coaches (e.g. handling a child having a difficult time, managing a practice that isn’t going well, communication with school and/or parents)
Help ensure that attendance & other data is collected at every practice
Escalate any larger issues to the OST Assistant Director and/or OST Director
Be available to run practices when needed due to coach callouts
Maintain and deliver equipment to sites with help of OST Assistant Director
Be available to receive feedback from coaches, parents, and school staff for sharing with Assistant Director and Director
Coordinate with administrative staff when necessary as well as with external stakeholders on occasion
Help manage callouts and find replacement coaches when necessary
Help plan sites and schedules under the direction of Assistant Director
Aid in coach recruitment efforts such as outreach and events
Other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Solid management and organizational skills.
Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team player and leader who can positively and productively impact programmatic excellence.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other staff members.
Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Driver’s license and a vehicle for site visits.
Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Familiarity with Philadelphia and Kensington is a plus.
Soccer involvement / experience is a plus.
As a condition of employment, employees must have proof that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Part-Time Option:
Schedule: 20 Hours/Week. Mondays through Fridays 2pm - 6pm
Responsibilities: OST Programming Only (see above)
Pay: $22-$25/hour
Benefits: Accrue .5 days paid time off for every 40 hours worked
Full-Time Option:
Schedule:
40 Hours/Week
Mondays through Fridays 1pm - 6pm.
Mondays through Thursdays 6pm to 8pm
Saturday or Sunday 9am to 4pm
Responsibilities:
OST Supervision and Training
Coaching and/or supervising rec, travel, and/or special olympics
Recruiting and training coaches
Pay: Salary $37,000 to $40,000 per year
